about

If you have visited the Nataraja temple at Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, India, you’ll instantly understand what I am talking about. Dedicated to the element Akasha (Ether or space or void), this temple is an epic work of art and architecture that our ancestors have left behind, for eternity! This temple is known for “Chidambaram Rahasya” (The Secret of Chidambaram), which is essentially an unveiling of the formless Sadashiva, the resident lord of Vishuddhi chakra (Throat chakra), sensed by your ears (related to the Ether element). The curtains that unveil this secret are coloured black on the outside (indicating ignorance) and red on the inside (indicating wisdom and bliss). The title of this song reflects this very analogy, about how one needs to unveil their ignorance via their thoughts and deeds, to get to the state of bliss via the wisdom acquired through this journey!
